Inhabit - Wall Flats

ti_chrisrobinson_tfcWall Flats from Inhabit are lightweight dimensional wall tiles that work together through an automatic pattern repeat to create large-scale three-dimensional walls of any size and shape. Molded from bamboo, one of the world’s most renewable resources, they are durable, sustainable and biodegradable.

Wall Flats are Inhabit’s take on a modern, eco-friendly wallpaper. A modern embossed three-dimensional wallcovering that is good for the environment. Does it get any better than that?

They can be installed, trimmed and painted with commonly available products and tools. Scraps are biodegradable and can be recycled with other paper products or composted. Wall Flats nest inside each other to create low volume cartons and easily ship with common small parcel carriers.

One of my fav wall coverings, you can see these flats in T.I.’s latest clip directed by Chris Robinson.

GQ - Torn and Frayed

tfc_denim_cobainI was on GQ today and noticed this image in one of the style guides illustrating that ripped and torn jeans are making a resurgence. Taking a cue from the days of Kurt Cobain and past grunge rockers of the 90’s it strikes me that the movement is in reaction to the over saturation of denim with every rinse, over-dye, whisker etc and the exhaustion of almsot every possibility being played out. (Really, how many ways can you re-interpret indigo before you get back to basics?). So in essence indigo wore out its welcome…literally. One again a testament that classics never wear out, even when they are worn out.

Lucky Strike - World Premiere

Lucky Strike Theatrical Trailer from LRB on Vimeo.

An opinion is not a point of view. Commentary is not commitment. Observation is not action. These words ring in my head each day as I strive to fulfill my civic and artistic potential. My heart is unfortunately bigger than my actions at times and I truly want need to assert myself in greater issues. I’m compelled to do so as I come from a family of strong civic/charity/minded individuals. With that being said I have had the pleasure of meeting and be-friending 2 passionate filmmakers that have made an indelible dent into political and pop-culture.

In the most epic Presidential Election of my lifetime, many of my friends took the trip to Washington for the Obama Inauguration to witness history unfold but Anthony Gagliardi and Lucas Baiano were a head of the pack and took hold of a moment and became apart of history in the process. They produced, shot, edited the indie documentary ‘Lucky Strike’.

They describe the film like this - “In the year of the youth vote, Lucky Strike from beginning to end is an incredible and fate-filled true story of how one student’s curious twist of events, which catapult him into the national political spotlight during the most historic American presidential campaign and how it unexpectedly changes his life. Follow the unpredictable moments which parallel the candidates race to the White House and in the process discover that what it takes to make a dream go from impossible to inevitable is believing in yourself.”

The incredible back-story to this is that after acquiring tickets to a Meet and Greet at a book lecture in Toronto with Bill Clinton, Lucas (filmed by Anthony) briefly met the former President to pitch an idea to make a campaign video for his wife Hillary Clinton. Lucas convinced Bill to let them do it and then produced a three minute video from the six hours of raw footage they were provided. The video has been since featured on Hillary Clinton’s official youth program/support sites; hillblazers.com.

Both Lucas & Anthony are making a follow-up documentary, about their experiences with the Clinton campaign and the video and the fellas are flying out to DC to premier their work as they have been awarded an Official Selection to the Washington Film Festival. Good luck guys!

Tag along for the follow and check out their site.

NY-Z

This mini-documentary directed by Danny Clinch was commissioned by the World’s Most Iconic Vodka; Absolut Vodka and pays tribute to New York City and circles around Jay-Z x BP3 concert at Madison Square Garden. Dubbed “the epicenter of the epicenter”, the reknowned arena provide the backdrop for this film showing Hova in a way we’re not using seeing him.

“NY-Z paints a rare portrait of the hip-hop icon, with unprecedented access to JAY-Z the days and moments leading up to, and after, his legendary benefit concert. Danny Clinch gives viewers an intimate glimpse into JAY-Z’s childhood, his motivation as an artist, his passion for music, and his muse, New York. The film marks yet another unprecedented collaboration for the spirits brand in a long line of artistic partnerships dating back to the 1980s when ABSOLUT engaged pop culture icons, such as Andy Warhol and Keith Haring.

“NY-Z is a great product of the collaborations behind the ABSOLUT Concert Series,” Danny Clinch, Director of NY-Z said. “As the director, the creative spirits behind ABSOLUT and two iconic NY brands, JAY-Z and MSG, allowed for such a natural and seamless foundation, that the rest was really about celebrating New York through JAY-Z’s eyes and exploring the notion that you have truly ‘arrived’ as a performer when you are playing at the Garden.”

NY-Z was shot by ABSOLUT agency of record TBWA, in black and white in New York. For more information about NY-Z, visit Facebook.com/ABSOLUT.”

Where creative and commerce meet in symphonic synergy. A co-branded venture at it’s finest.
