inquiring mind ibn jasper Inquiring Mind: Ibn Jasper

Canada’s own InquiringMind Magazine sat down with Ibn Jasper to talk about cuts, styling and how he got into the game. It’s a pretty good article especially if you’re unsure as to who Ibn Jasper really is. Check it out here.

GQ - Torn and Frayed

tfc_denim_cobainI was on GQ today and noticed this image in one of the style guides illustrating that ripped and torn jeans are making a resurgence. Taking a cue from the days of Kurt Cobain and past grunge rockers of the 90’s it strikes me that the movement is in reaction to the over saturation of denim with every rinse, over-dye, whisker etc and the exhaustion of almsot every possibility being played out. (Really, how many ways can you re-interpret indigo before you get back to basics?). So in essence indigo wore out its welcome…literally. One again a testament that classics never wear out, even when they are worn out.

I just noticed this in the Ny Times Style section and thought i’d share. Basically the article describes why one pair of khaki’s could cost $50 and another pair which look very similar cost $550. For all of you who aren’t aware or who haven’t watched the first season of How to Make it in America; Read this article. Pictured above are J. Crew (left);$65 and Our Legacy (right);$250

Tiger and Earl - Did you learn anything?

I know this is going to be everywhere, but I saw this on the Jimmy Kimmel Show last night and had to. I wasn’t sure if it was even real but apparently it airs today during the first round of the Master’s tournament.

What do you think of it?

Past and Future - Google Maps Envelope

Google Maps Envelopes Google Maps Envelope is an interface for Gmail and basically gives you the option to send the letter physically instead of electronically. Dope!

Rahul Mahtani and Yofred Moik have conceptualized the addition of a “Send Envelope” button that would enable users to quickly send a physical letter — rather than an e-mail — with spiffy Google Maps-esque packaging.

Upon clicking the “Send Envelope” button, Google would print and deliver an e-mail via the USPS for a small fee. The return address label is in a bubble at their start of a route traced on the map envelope, while the destination is in the address bubble at the end of the route. Between the two is the route that the letter takes to get there.

Continue reading for some pictures which describe how it would work.
